Anne Basking with Breakfast in Bed

On rumpled sheets with jam to spread,
Anne smiles softly, dreams unsaid.
She greets the dawn, her worries fled,
For joy begins with breakfast in bed.
Her teacup steams beside warm bread,
A golden thread through thoughts of dread.
Though gentle steps are slow to tread,
A loving tray lifts spirits ahead.
Chorus:
Breakfast in bed, let troubles shed,
Basking in love, not fear or dread.
A daily gift, a life well led;
Anne basking each morning with breakfast in bed.
With every bite, the past is wed
To hope for what lies still ahead.
We cherish her, and tears we’ve shed
Are soothed each day by breakfast in bed.
Chorus:
Breakfast in bed, let troubles shed,
Basking in love, not fear or dread.
A daily gift, a life well led;
Anne basking each morning with breakfast in bed.

If you feel like keeping track of Anne’s cancer journey, I’m chronicling it here:
