Fur Children
I wrote this little piece of foolishness based on the classic tune “Goldfinger” from the 1965 James Bond film of the same name. The song is about my son’s cat Sassy, who simply won’t let you stop stroking her once you’ve started.
Fur Children
Fur Children…
They’re the cats, the cats with the Midas touch,
A feline touch;
Such delightful Fur Children…
They beckon you to enter in and stroke their belly and chin…
But they won’t let you win; you’ll never win…
Golden purrs they will pour in your ear;
But their lies can’t disguise what you fear;
For this Sassy girl knows when you’ve stroked her
It’s a long-term joke
For your Purr Children…
Beware of this thrumming beast…
Her heart is bold, oh so bold.
Golden purrs they will pour in your ear;
But these lies can’t disguise what you fear;
For this Sassy girl knows when you’ve stroked her
It’s a long-term joke
For your Purr Children…
Beware of this thrumming beast…
Her heart is bold, oh so bold.
She’s just bold,
Only bold,
You love her bold;
She won’t leave you cold;
Oh so bold…
She’s so bold!
Here’s the Goldfinger tune, which I hope you can hear as you read the cat lyrics!
