Mommy Bloggers

Just learned a new designation from my friend the writer Allan Stratton: Mommy Blogger. A term practically everybody seems to know except me.

Allan tells me that “Mommy bloggers are stay at home moms who blog and have been able to get into publishing because of their huge number of followers. This happens when they write something that goes viral. Social media only works then, but most people spend way more time on their blogs and social media than they do writing.”

Allan has a proposal for a mystery story: There’s this Mommy Blogger with three million followers. She gets killed at a Mommy Blogger convention. The suspects are competitors, old sponsors, and moms who want revenge against someone who makes it all look so easy.

My publisher has urged me to blog. To become an Old Geezer Blogger. As always, I love the writing and truly despise the technology. Learning how to master WordPress makes me weep. Elementor sounds like a terrifying monster from science fiction.

By the way, Allan Stratton is a brilliant and accomplished writer and a very funny man.

Robert McBryde Author: Blogging about blogging, social media nightmares, CBC radio, literary non-fiction, vignettes and sketches, immigrant experience, living in Quebec and in France, childhood and animal stories, creative memoirs, satire, autobiography, family relations, raising children, aging, travel, social commentary, love and marriage, translation: English-French; French-English

Publisher’s Note: Funny, manic, and wistful… self-deprecating creative nonfiction…The author, Robert McBryde, a professional translator, has been compared to David Sedaris for the sometimes-snarky autobiographical satire characterizing his literary sketches. Many of the stories in his new book, titled My Time with You Has Been Short but Very Funny, have been featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation radio network.

Author’s Note:
I’ve written a new book of creative non-fiction titled My Time with You Has Been Short but Very Funny, recently published and now on the market. The book is based on stories that I told over the years as a writer/ broadcaster and host on CBC radio based in Quebec City, Canada.
The book is available via my website. The purchase links are at the bottom of the home page.

I will post at least two blogs per week, normally Wednesdays and Fridays mornings EST. Stay tuned!
If you purchase a book via the platform of your choice, please leave a review!
