Out of the Cognitive Jungle: A Poem of Laughter and Love
Between tangled thoughts and shadowed mind’s domain,
I wander, lost amid the wild unknown—
Yet laughter, bright and sudden as the rain,
Breaks through the brambles I have called my own.
A chorus rises—family, all around,
Their arms unwavering, their presence clear.
In laughter’s light, I’m briefly safe, unbound,
Emerging whole, the world no longer drear.
Though jungle walls may soon encroach anew,
Love and laughter guide me gently through.

For Anne, as she enters the palliative phase of her brain cancer.
Is this how she might have experienced last night’s mini family reunion made complete by a Vietnamese feast?
